Property Accounting Manager

Our client, a successful and growing Commercial Real Estate Developer, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their expanding team in Fresno, CA!

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing all the activities of the corporate and property accounting department. This role is best performed in person, so applicants must be willing to relocate to Fresno, CA. Apply today!

 

Responsibilities
  • Maintains the general ledger, performs general accounting and month-end close duties of the corporate entities
  • Reconciles bank accounts monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks
  • Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections
  • Monthly reconciliation of loan and escrow impound accounts
  • Verifies and completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable in a timely manner and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts
  • Assists with preparing accurate and timely monthly financial statements, cash flow reports, annual budgets, forecasts, and review of quarterly property-level financial results
  • Assists with the processes for financial forecasting, budgeting, and consolidation reporting and identifying and explaining significant budget variances to management
  • Assists with the annual review and preparation of CAM reconciliations
  • Assists with preparation of investor and lender reporting packages on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Prepares payments for partner distributions and helps the financial team with reporting and compliance
  • Reconciliation of intercompany transactions
  • Provide information for and take part in Q&A for annual tax preparation and appraisals
  • Understanding and/or experience with cost accounting for construction in progress

 

Qualifications
  • BA/BS in accounting, business, or finance
  • 3-5 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry (office, retail and industrial)
  • Experience in both the private and public accounting sectors is preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated critical thinker
  • A passion to create useful, concise, informative financial reports
  • Be detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Experience with GAAP reporting
  • Flexible, strategic team player with high integrity and ethical standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical capacity - Proficient with Excel and experience with real estate general ledger software accounting systems (Yardi highly preferred)
  • Familiarity with Quickbooks and Argus software (a plus)
