ABOUT THIS ROLE

Under the direction of the Secretary and Treasurer, the Director of Asset Management is responsible for overseeing the operations of the company through supervising team members and monitoring the operations and fiscal status through regular reports and analysis. They will also be responsible for business development by active procurement of contracts with clients that create synergy with the company’s business model.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Solicit and procure additional business contracts to facilitate the growth of the company.
  • Manage and evaluate business operations relative to established performance and tracking indicators.
  • Provide assistance and direction in the development of the annual budget; monitor budget(s) through monthly reports and provide input as needed.
  • Monitor lease enforcement, collections, collection loss, vacancy reports, court filings, etc. through computer generated and manual reporting systems.
  • Meet with residents, resident organizations, and external agencies to receive input regarding the operation of housing programs; assess needs and address concerns.
  • Select, train, motivate and evaluate assigned personnel. Prepare and review performance appraisals and discuss with subordinates as appropriate.
  • Assist direct reports in handling difficult or complex problems with clients by offering alternatives and working directly with residents as needed.
  • Provide direction on policies and procedures; and recommend optimum organizational or procedural changes which will develop a more efficient organization.
  • Prepare routine and special management reports on business activity
  • Participate in housing-related organizations and review new or revised regulations affecting housing programs
  • Performs additional duties as required, such as representing the company at conferences; addressing concerns raised by groups relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in social science, business administration, property management, or a related field
  • 5+ years’ progressive experience in property management or related industry
  • 3+ years’ of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret housing programs, policies, procedures, and federal, state and local laws, codes and regulations
  • Knowledge of budgeting and business management concepts and practices.
  • Ability to perform housing inspections and assess for needed repairs, violations and charges
  • Ability to use software including MS Word/Excel/PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from a variety of social, economic and ethnic backgrounds
  • Good written and oral communication and presentation skills
