Our Client, a national multi-family management, commercial real estate, and investment firm is looking for a dedicated Controller to join their team.
This is a great opportunity to assist the Director of Accounting and Chief Financial Officer in overseeing the accounting department including account record-keepings, practices and procedures for financial reporting, and record keeping including management of staff as needed and with a focus on processes and process improvement.
· Assists in directing the activities of the accounting department. This department is responsible for financial reporting for each multifamily and commercial property under management and other related companies
· Assists in managing transactions and relationships with lenders, investors, and banks.
· Communicate goals and objectives effectively with accounting staff and property management.
· Establish, implement and enforce accounting policies and procedures and internal controls.
· Coordinate preparation of monthly reports for all projects.
· Develop and maintain accounting systems that produce a timely and accurate picture of the financial condition of each project in an efficient manner.
· Manage customer service to 3rd party and internal clients.
· Conduct performance evaluations of Accounting staff and position department to prosper in a team-oriented environment.
· Reviews and approves financial reports and supporting documentation on a monthly basic.
· Other duties and special projects as assigned.
· Bachelors’ degree and at least four years transferable experience.
· Ability to manage and supervise staff.
· Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills, which will enable clear concise communication with staff and other outside parties.
· Ability to manage on initiative with discretion.
