Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Our client is a highly successful Specialty Real Estate Lender with over 70 years combined experience in the industry. They are experiencing phenomenal growth and are seeking an experienced and motivated Chief Operating Officer to grow with them and help take them to the next level!

The COO will report to the CEO, whose primary responsibilities are to set the vision, leading expansion beyond Texas, holding the team accountable, and leading the on-going capital raising efforts. The COO will also oversee the daily operations of all company departments.

The company currently has approximately 5 employees and contractors. All of these team members will report to the COO. Over time (as the company grows), all of the future department managers (e.g. sales manager, accounting manager, servicing manager, etc.) will report to the COO.

 

Responsibilities

The COO will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the company, including:

  • Marketing
  • Sales
  • Loan underwriting and originations
  • Loan Servicing (collections, foreclosures, REO sales, etc.)
  • Loan performance tracking and accounting
  • IT and systems
  • Human Resources
  • Compliance
  • Supporting (but not leading) on-going capital raising efforts

 

Education and Experience
  • College degree required
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership position overseeing several departments
  • Real estate lending experience
  • Consumer loan experience (auto, unsecured, etc.) big plus
  • Experience driving growth in a real estate lending business
  • Experience with marketing a loan product, sales and sales management, loan origination, underwriting, servicing, IT and systems, and compliance

  • A demonstrated leader, motivated self-starter, and goal driven individual
  • Great coach/mentor/developer of talent; both a team player and a team builder
  • Inquisitive and innovator; likes to find new tools and apply them
  • Data driven; makes decisions based on facts; loves to collect and analyze data
  • Capable of working in a very fast paced environment
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
