Assistant Property Manager – Tax Credit/LIHTC

Our client, an affordable housing community, is seeking an Assistant Property Manager with Tax Credit/HUD experience to support their team! As a non-profit leader in affordable housing, this company is committed to creating communities and changing the lives of others through affordable housing.

The Assistant Property Manager will assist with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the affordable housing community and calculate income and assets ensuring that compliances are met and the property is operating smoothly and to the residents’ satisfaction. Essential Functions Include:

  • Assist with managing the on-site team, maintaining the highest standards of resident service and relations.
  • Interview and screen prospective residents/residents for certifications and re-certifications
  • Complete residential lease administration using the company’s software & forms
  • Ensure that residents are provided with a clean, safe, well-maintained community.
  • Assist with maintaining and submitting accurate payroll records as required by the company.
  • Collect delinquent rents and notify supervisor so they may approve to initiate unlawful detainer actions as appropriate.
  • Assist with calculating income and assets.
  • Perform move-in and move-out administration with particular attention to consistent apartment inspections.
  • Ensure that maintenance requests are handled as quickly, efficiently and effectively as possible.

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma Required. College degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of affordable housing, LIHTC/tax credit, HUD/Section 8 community experience
  • 1+ years of assistant management or supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to empathize with residents and staff, while still enforcing community rules and policies
  • Competence in personal computer skills, keyboard, internet search, math, Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Property management software applications (Yardi, RealPage, etc.) a plus.
  • Knowledge of OSHA laws and regulations.
