Assistant Controller

Helps to oversee the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll departments:

  • Setup new customer profiles in database
  • Review new invoices to ensure they are accurate and complete including required timecards, purchase order numbers, etc
  • Distribute invoices to clients the same day they are available
  • Research invoice discrepancies and inform the accounting team
  • Post daily cash to database – follow up on under/overpayments
  • Weekly cash journal entries in accounting software
  • Review AR Aging reports and follow up with accounts that are not current
  • Send AR Aging reports to clients
  • Resend invoice
  • Build relationships with clients via email and phone
  • Keep supervisor informed on troublesome accounts
  • Weekly reports for the VP of Finance including - AR Aging Balance, AR Ineligibles, Cash Received, and status updates.
  • Cross train on payroll functions
  • Review weekly Accounts Payable check requests
  • Review monthly bank reconciliations
  • Monthly journal entries and reconciliations to assist in compiling financial statements
  • Financial statements by Division
  • Provide support on various projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced Excel abilities
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles
  • 1+year Accounting experience
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Superb attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to uphold a professional work environment
  • Self-starter, ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Embraces working in a team environment
  • Experience with CRM software a plus
