Accounting Clerk – Property Management Industry

Our client, a highly successful and growing Residential Property Management company is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join their team!

The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for assisting the Accountant with general accounting, bookkeeping and clerical duties as well as support the corporate office with general office services as needed. The ideal Accounting Clerk candidate will have some experience with accounting or bookkeeping, be tech-savvy, and have an excellent attention to detail. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Receives, verifies, and enters expense reports and invoices; reconciles expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
  • Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, requesting updated Certificates of Insurance, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payments, identifies discount opportunities, and issues purchase order amendments or stop-payment orders as needed.
  • Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
  • Records entry of, verifies documentation for, and distributes petty cash.
  • Calculates and reports sales/use tax based on paid invoices.
  • General Ledger research and reconciliation; post journal entries to general ledger.
  • Prepare bank deposits, General Ledger postings and statements.
  • Assist in month end procedures.
  • Other related accounting duties as assigned. Other general corporate office services as needed.


  • High school diploma required; Business or Accounting degree preferred or some accounting coursework.
  • 2+ years’ Accounting or Bookkeeping experience.
  • Thorough understanding of bookkeeping practices and procedures
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related accounting programs.
  • Knowledge and experience creating spreadsheets.
  • Must be able to learn other accounting software systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
  • Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
  • Yardi experience required
