Tori Stillman:
Within one short month of joining the JWilliams Staffing (JWS) team, Tori Stillman was hired by Greystar as their Resident Services Coordinator. While beginning her career in the fast-paced industry of fashion, Tori decided to make an ambitious change and found her calling in the multi-family property management industry.
“I originally wanted to become a Community Manager. However, now I see that there are endless possibilities for advancement.” – Tori Stillman
Tori had researched community manager positions and thought that this type of role might be a good fit for her. After identifying JWS as her way to enter the property management industry, she joined our team and began to evaluate possibilities other than community manager. New doors opened to a selection of exciting and fulfilling multi-family careers. From leasing and management to corporate and government positions, Tori was keen on exploring this plethora of opportunities.
“My favorite part about working with JWilliams was how they gave me a chance to prove myself and then be rewarded for the work I put into transitioning into my new career.”– Tori Stillman
Tori’s JWS Manager, Brandon Holland, helped her understand the wide variety of roles available within the property management industry. He also assessed her skills and passions to determine where they would be the strongest fit. Brandon matched Tori with a resident services position, and she loved it from day one. She finds that planning and implementing resident activities and promoting a quality living experience for residents is rewarding and is something at which she excels.
Tori’s advice to anyone looking to land a full-time position is spot-on:
“Be on time, offer to do as much as possible (rather than sitting and awaiting a task), and have the mindset that you are going to get this position, as though you already work there.” – Tori Stillman
By being reliable, proactive, and looking for the next way to help, Tori shows that she cares about the job and the apartment community. Those looking for a full-time opportunity should treat each temporary assignment like a working interview. It is a unique opportunity to demonstrate work ethic, professionalism, and dedication to the role.
While Tori was working a JWS assignment with Greystar, the managers on-site quickly saw the extra effort Tori put in. The Greystar team knew Tori was the perfect fit for their company so they offered her a full-time Resident Services Coordinator position, and she happily accepted.
“Greystar is the largest name in Property Management in the United States, and they promote from within. I have great benefits and opportunities within the company. Due to my non-corporate background, I would likely not have made my way in without the help of JWilliams Staffing.”– Tori Stillman
While JWS was able to help Tori get her foot in the door, it was ultimately Tori who landed herself a full-time position. Property management companies won’t just give a job to anyone who walks in the door. They’re looking for professionals who are dedicated, excited to be there, and will put in the effort to benefit the community and create a phenomenal experience for their residents.

Learn the ins and outs of the property to better assist prospects and feel more confident in your product. Don’t sit on your phone or try to waste time…your lack of effort will show. Use your time effectively; after all, your income depends on it.” Jessica set herself apart in the leasing office by understanding that what she puts into her work is what she will get out of it. She said it best, “your lack of effort will show”. Employers can see when you’ve put in 100% effort versus 50% and will always appreciate those who give 100%
Adriana Renteria
Adriana was hired by JWilliams Staffing in May of 2021 and within 4 months she landed a full-time position as a Community Relations Representative for The Irvine Company.
“My career goal was to get employed by a reputable property management company. Now, after reaching that goal, I look forward to furthering my growth in the property management industry.” – Adriana Renteria
Not many people can say they reached their career goal just a few short months after taking their first step, but that’s exactly what Adriana did! Now she has her eyes set on a new goal: growing within the property management industry. We have no doubt that she will continue to soar to great heights. So how exactly did Adriana reach that first goal? We asked her, and here’s what she shared…
“I gained support, experience, and confidence within the JWilliams Staffing team,” said Adriana.
Looking back on her time with JWilliams Staffing, Adriana said she received hands-on experience and tremendous support from our team, which helped her build her confidence and reach her goal of being hired full-time. In addition, having a manager to provide her with coaching and mentorship throughout her time with JWilliams Staffing allowed Adriana to see her strengths.
Adriana came to us with the interpersonal skills and drive needed in this industry, and with some coaching, she was able to utilize those skills and captivate the attention of property management teams. Before long, The Irvine Company offered her the full-time position of Community Relations Representative.
“My favorite memory with JWS is when they encouraged me to accept a great opportunity…” – Adriana Renteria
When Adriana was offered this role with The Irvine Company, her JWS manager reminded her that she was talented, dedicated, and ready to take on this exciting offer. With this encouragement, she accepted the role and has been doing amazing things and growing in her career with The Irvine Company ever since. After fulfilling the role of Community Relations Representative with The Irvine Company for a little while, she quickly rose to a Property Manager position.

“I love that I learn something new every day in a fast-paced environment.”
It takes drive and passion to grow quickly in any position, and we can see those traits within Adriana and her immediate success!
Fun Fact: Adriana prefers to skip the “small talk”
Adriana’s desire to avoid small talk likely attributes to her success in the leasing office! When you cut the small talk and focus on conversations of substance, you can better understand someone. Asking engaging questions that help elicit a customer’s values and desires will get you a lot further than chatting about the weather. Adriana’s willingness to dive deep into what’s important to those around her helps her excel in her career.
Before she went, Adriana had this to say:
“JWS is a great way to start a career in property management or to continue to use your skills to adapt and grow in this ever-changing field of property management.” – Adriana Renteria
Rocio (Rose) Lewis
Rocio was referred to JWilliams Staffing by a friend and colleague back in 2006 and was hired by JWilliams Staffing Regional Manager, Victoria Lund. Coming from a resale background, she wanted to get her foot in the door with new home builders in her area.
“Starting during one of the toughest years in real estate history, JWilliams Staffing was there for me.” – Rocio (Rose) Lewis
As the resale market began to soften in 2006, Rocio began to look into a more stable new home sales career. After being referred to JWilliams Staffing, Rocio knew the best way to reach her goal of being hired in the Homebuilding Industry was to learn while gaining experience and exposure on temporary assignments with various builder teams. Rocio said it took time and hard work, but that she was ultimately able to land her first job with a new home builder.
“The experience I gained gave me the foundation I needed to get started.” – Rocio (Rose) Lewis
Rocio grew in her career very quickly after being hired as a sales hostess by a local builder from JWilliams Staffing. After this first full-time role, Rocio was hired on with her current employer, K Hovnanian Homes, and has now been selling for them for about 12 years. This year she was promoted to Sales Manager for K Hovnanian’s Northern California region.
Rocio’s dedication and ability to gain diverse experience with various builders through JWilliams Staffing is what she believes set her up to be hired by a builder full-time. She had her eyes set on her goal and worked hard every day to reach it. One of her favorite memories with JWilliams Staffing was being trained by two sales agents in Tulare who showed her the ins and outs of the industry.
“Their kindness in teaching me the ropes gave me the foundation that I needed to succeed,” said Rocio.
Rocio’s drive and determination helped her stand out in the best ways. She has received top sales recognition, has achieved President’s Club 4 years in a row, and is well on her way to her 5th year. Rocio has also won sales volume awards for 5 consecutive years, ranging from $5 million to $25 million in sales.
As Rocio’s position evolved throughout her career, so have her values.
“In my sales position, it was about making the dream of homeownership a reality. Now in my role as sales manager I enjoy helping our team of sales professionals succeed.” – Rocio (Rose) Lewis
One trait we have consistently seen throughout the most successful sales agents is how much they care for their clients, and Rocio is no exception. As a sales agent, the thing that she valued most was helping her clients find their perfect home. Since growing into the management position, Rocio has loved leading, coaching, and training her team to grow and succeed in their own sales.
Beyond the workplace, Rocio loves to spend time with her family as well as travel. She also happens to be a big movie buff! Rocio is bilingual and is fluent in English and Spanish, which has allowed her to connect more with her clients and prospects.
We asked Rocio what tips or advice she had for current or prospective JWilliams Staffing employees and she had this to say:
“Trust JWilliams Staffing, they will give you the path in new home sales”– Rocio (Rose) Lewis

Zachary Adagio
Zachary Adagio was first brought on the JWilliams Staffing team as a leasing consultant in August of 2020 and within two months, landed a full-time position as a Leasing Consultant with a property management company.
“I had zero background in the apartment leasing business, but I came to JWS with a passion for working hard. Brandon Holland interviewed me and noticed my strengths and gave me opportunities despite my inexperience.” – Zachary Adagio
With a background in acquisition management & investing, as well as support from the JWilliams Staffing team, Zachary was able to use his communication skills and teachability to quickly and successfully transition into a full-time leasing position.
While with JWilliams Staffing, Zachary learned the value of efficiency and hard work in the leasing office. The methods taught by his JWS manager and those he worked with on-site helped him eliminate busy work and focus on activities that lead to lease agreements.
“…I was accepted back by JWS with open arms, and was immediately given the opportunity to work full time at a beautiful property in Irvine the next week. No other staffing company I’ve been with has been so fast to find me work.” – Zachary Adagio
According to Zachary, his favorite memory from working with JWilliams Staffing was when the COVID pandemic affected his first full-time leasing job that he landed through JWilliams Staffing, requiring him to come back to temporary opportunities with us. He said that he was accepted back by the JWilliams team with open arms and was almost immediately given another full-time opportunity. While the support of our team help Zachary get his foot in the door, this kind of success doesn’t come from just showing up. Zachary’s hard work and willingness to go above and beyond in the workplace is what set him apart.
“I became knowledgeable in all aspects of what is expected of a leasing consultant, and my willingness to learn gave me an edge above everyone else.” – Zachary Adagio
Zachary’s number one piece of advice for anyone looking to land a full-time position is to, “outwork your competition”. He always did his research before a new assignment so that he showed up already knowing the layouts and costs of each floor plan, the neighborhood/what activities or entertainment were nearby, the availability of each floor plan and which were on which floor (including handicap), and so on. “Applying for a job like this is competitive,” Zachary said, and he is absolutely right.
Since being hired on full-time with a property management company, Zachary has found much success.
“I love this career – I spend every day driving to work in my new Tesla, I work in a cool office, and I have the opportunity to speak to new people every day,” says Zachary.
Zachary was hired as a Leasing Consultant by this company and has since received salary and commission increases in recognition of his hard work. He attributes this success to the skills he has adapted from JWilliams Staffing. There is no doubt that Zachary’s willingness to learn, adapt, and focus has brought him such great success.
Beyond the workplace, Zachary loves to travel and spend time with his family and friends. Because of his focus in the leasing office, he is able to make the time to enjoy all of these pastimes.
When asked if there was anything else he would like to leave you all with he quoted New York Times best-selling Author, Marianne Williamson:
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Marrianne Williamson
Kristin Macias
First hired onto the team in 2012, Kristin launched her full-time career in New Home Sales the following year!
“Ironically, I was in the process of getting my bachelor’s degree for Exercise Science and saw working for JWilliams Staffing as a great way to work during the week. I ended up falling in love with the business and decided to pursue a career in new home sales.”
– Kristin Macias
When Kristin started working with JWilliams Staffing, her goals looked quite different. With the flexibility JWilliams Staffing offered, Kristin was able to work while she pursued a degree in exercise science. However, the more she worked with JWS, the more she fell in love with the New Home Sales Industry. Like so many others, Kristin hadn’t planned on it, but she realized she stumbled upon a fulfilling career path and headed in a new direction.
While with our team, Kristin learned quickly that what you put into an assignment is what you get from it. She put in 110% to every assignment to ensure she was learning and growing with each new experience. “If you are willing to show loyalty and dedication while you are in the field, you will be surprised by how often it comes back to help you in your time of need – especially when you join on with a new builder,” said Kristin.
“I remember being 22 and going up to the community the day before the assignment to introduce myself. I was wearing jeans and the sales consultant asked me if that was what I was planning to wear the next day…”
– Kristin Macias
“…Of course it wasn’t, but it shows how far someone can come from where they are,” Kristin followed up. From her first assignment, Kristin consistently went the extra mile. The day before her first assignment, she visited the builder sales office to introduce herself to the on-site salesperson to make sure she was informed and ready to work on her first day. If there’s one thing that Kristin was during her time with JWS, it was proactive.
The best advice Kristin said she would give to anyone looking to land a full-time position is to actively seek out ways they can help. “Ask the builder what things can be done, don’t wait for them to tell you what can be done,” she said. Taking the initiative and going beyond what was expected of her is something that is a part of Kristin’s amazing work ethic and the reason she believes she was able to land a position with a great company.
Beyond JWilliams Staffing, Kristin’s success continued to soar. Hired on with Toll Brothers as a Sales Associate, she was able to rise to a Sales Manager position within a year. She was also a top three finalist for the GHBA Rookies Sales Person of the Year. A driving factor for her success within this career is her love for helping others. Kristin loves helping people embark on the exciting journey of building their dream home.
“Every person has a unique story, and it is great to know that I will be a part of the home buying chapter of their lives.”
– Kristin Macias
Families are incredibly important to Kristin. Beyond helping families in her professional life, Kristin loves being a mom to her 3 year old, Kamila. Kristin also worked for a youth conference organization when she was 19 and emceed for crowds of up to 5,000.
Kind and proactive is who Kristin is. She believes that if you are kind and excited to be at work, it goes a long way. Now being on the other side of the business and requesting coverage, she knows what it’s like and what helps candidates grow beyond their current role. “It definitely helps to be that friendly face and show you want to learn,” says Kristin. So be kind and take that next opportunity!
Kimberley Membiela
Kimberley Membiela couldn’t be a more fitting alumna to be the first to be featured, as she was one of the first professionals hired by JoAnne Williams when JWilliams Staffing was breaking ground in California. She was, and still is, an incredible success. Here’s her story:
Kimberley started with JWilliams in 2004 as a New Home Sales Assistant. She had her sights set on becoming a community sales manager, and was thrilled to be in the sales office helping customers choose their dream home. Through her daily experiences, and learning from Founder and CEO, JoAnne Williams, Kimberley gained valuable insight on the new home sales process, background and stages in homebuilding, and the importance of putting the client first. Where others saw dollar signs, she saw families, couples, and real people looking for a place to call home. Kimberley put her time, effort, and heart into her new role from the moment she was brought on to the JWS team.
Shortly after starting to work temporary assignments, Empire Homes identified Kimberley’s initiative and hired her as a full-time Associate Sales Agent from JWilliams Staffing. Kimberley quickly flew through the ranks from there – six months after she was hired, she was promoted to her dream role: Community Sales Manager.
Kimberley loves helping people from all walks of life and looks at them as her family. “The first-time homebuyers are like your children, you protect and look after them. You guide them through the process so they can be secure in their decision. Buying your first home is a scary commitment, so being there for those buyers makes their experience a memorable one.” Kimberly shared, “Helping a 55+ homebuyer is like helping your parents or grandparents with their final home purchase. It is very rewarding and emotional. Knowing that you are helping these buyers select where they want to spend their golden years is very heartfelt,” she continued, “Learning from them and listening to their life stories are priceless moments.” You can imagine how much of a personal touch Kimberly applies to each customer experience by the way she talks about the buying process. Treating clients as family is what she loves most about her career, and it sets her apart as an incredible salesperson. Beyond work, Kimberley dedicates this same level of care to her own family. She loves spending time with and taking care of her mother as well as creating memories with her grandchildren.
Kimberley’s drive has also led to tremendous recognition in the New Home Sales Industry. Having earned over 17 awards for Sales Person of the Quarter and six awards for 1st Runner Up of the Quarter from the Greater Sales and Marketing Council, she has made great strides in the Southern California New Home Sales Industry and set herself apart. Kimberley was also a finalist for the Laurel Award three years in a row and won the Laurel Award for Sales Person of the Year in 2009. And if you thought that was it, she was also a MAME Awards three time finalist for Sales Person of the Year throughout the entire Southern California region and won in 2010! Following her many successes, Kimberley most recently won Sales Person and Community of the Year from William Lyon Homes two years in a row in 2017 and 2018.
One of Kimberley’s favorite memories was when she received her MAME award in 2010. She said, “JoAnne was at the event and I was able to show my appreciation for her giving me my first opportunity in New Home Sales. She believes in the people she hires and I will always be grateful for her belief in me.”
If there was one thing Kimberley would say to those starting out in the industry it is that, “This is an absolutely wonderful career. Make sure you have the passion and the drive. Enjoy every minute of it. Keep learning and never let the flame or desire go out,” she said, “It is very emotionally, spiritually, and financially rewarding. I would not be in any other business and I owe it all to JoAnne Williams. Thank you JoAnne and team.”
