Senior Manager of Commercial Properties

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to fulfil an exciting opportunity to join a passionate team as their Senior Manager of Commercial Properties! Our client, a rapidly growing owner of freestanding veterinary hospitals through the nation, is seeking a highly analytical individual to manage the expansion, relocation, and development of their properties. As the company continues to expand their team, they are seeking those who share a passion for progressive veterinary care. The Sr. Manager of Commercial Properties will support field leaders and hospital managers to optimize utilization and lower operating costs of the company’s leased property assets. The position will be a key member of the company’s Support Center function.


Essential Functions & Basic Duties:


  • Managing a third party vendor that conducts lease negotiations for our 350+ US and Canada locations.
  • Managing all expansion and relocation projects, in addition to developing and applying quantitative metrics and criteria to determine the return on hospital expansions/relocations
  • Aiding veterinary hospital leaders to select and manage all recurring facility maintenance and service contracts, including aiding in emergency facility repairs and relocations and determining relative responsibility for maintenance between a Landlord and our client.
  • Developing, selecting, and implementing energy efficiency initiatives to lower costs
  • Working with our client’s legal department to submit and track all property tax appeals
  • Working with our client’s business development team to oversee an inspection of certain properties before clients purchase.  
  • Building the Real Property team, and selecting new team members, when appropriate   



Education, Qualifications, Designations and Required Skills/Experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • 5-10 years property management, facilities management, and/or construction management experience
  • EIT/PE preferred but not required  
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Consultative approach to identifying and assessing business opportunities
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels across an organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint

 

Location

  • The position will be based in the Los Angeles area, but remote candidate will also be considered. 25-35% travel is expected.
