The Real Estate Analyst provides underwriting analysis in support of the acquisition, marketing and resale of real estate assets, including single family, multifamily and commercial properties. The successful candidate will work alongside business leaders to assist with due diligence, forecasting and benchmarking of potential and existing real estate projects. Primary Responsibilities/Duties
  • Perform due diligence and underwriting of prospective acquisitions and developments, including analyzing large portfolios of real estate properties
  • Provide support for the acquisition, financing, development and disposition process
  • Prepare financial modeling to support and guide both acquisition and asset management decisions
  • Prepare presentation materials on new and existing investments for internal and external uses
  • Analyze and monitor the financial performance of properties including financial modeling, benchmarking to budget, and collaborating with management in executing business plans
  • Assist with analysis of the overall market and monitor industry trends
  • Administer and manage databases
Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • An MBA or Master’s degree in Real Estate or Finance a plus
  • 4+ years’ experience in data modeling and analysis/reporting
  • 2+ years’ experience in real estate.
  • Experience analyzing large portfolios of real estate properties, preferably single family homes.
  • Ability to evaluate and underwrite real estate properties.
  • Proven experience with financial management and reporting; proven experience with real estate portfolio reporting.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Visio).
  • Advanced level Excel (VBA, Macro and Form development).
  • QuickBooks experience a plus
  • Ability to conceptualize independently and creatively.
  • Business judgment and ability to synthesize, analyze and mine implications.
  • Ability to boil down complex concepts into easily digestible ideas/packets of information.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, including experience in consensus building and creating highly effective presentations for senior management.
  • Experience collaborating with virtual or remote teams preferred
  • Ability to focus under pressure and comfortable meeting tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment; ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • Comfortable working with and protecting highly confidential information
