Property Staff Accountant

Essential Functions
  • Bank reconciliations for development and property management portfolios.
  • Review ledger and prepare monthly journal entries for closing financials of assigned properties.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts or sub-ledgers.
  • Print various financial reports and save in the proper location.
  • Preparation of CAM reconciliations & assist in annual budget process.
  • Weekly AP for multiple corporate entities and properties.
  • Maintain accurate cash, accounts receivables, and accounts payable ledgers by entering daily payable and receivable amounts into ledgers.
  • Daily cash receipts for multiple properties, scanning and entry of cash receipts into system, preparation of bank deposits, as needed.
  • Monitoring of cash on hand and work with manager to ensure adequate funds needed.
  • Improving processes in AP/AR functions including converting from a check processing to ACH processing payment system.
  • Allocating corporate expenses to various entities and properties and monitoring reimbursements.
  • Post, cut, and deposit intercompany management fees and reimbursements from properties.
  • Process tenant security deposit receipts and refunds.
  • Coordinate with property managers and property accountants to answer questions related to AP and AR.
  • Assist with year-end 1099 preparation.
  • Work with property managers to make sure W-9’s forms are received from vendors, and Certificates of Insurance are up to date.
  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Eligibility Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of Accounts Payable and Receivable experience required
  • Experience with Yardi and Quickbooks required
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook
  • Ability to work with others closely including coworkers, clients, tenants, and third parties
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Able to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
