We are looking for a Payroll Clerk to join our fun, close knit, and growing office in Irvine, CA! JWilliams Staffing’s goal and passion is to launch the careers of professional new home sales, leasing, & maintenance candidates by getting their foot in the door with our homebuilder and property management clients through temporary assignments.

The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing payroll for these temporary candidates, ensuring the correct and timely payment of our employees and proper billing of our customers. The ideal Payroll Clerk will have at least two years of payroll experience, an excellent attention to detail, and a high level of enthusiasm and customer service. Essential Payroll Functions:
  • Process temporary staff payroll
  • Process temporary staff invoicing
  • Perform weekly audits - pay rates, bill rates and ensure all missing timecards have been received and processed
  • Resolve any employee payroll concerns/discrepancies
  • Process payroll and invoice adjustments as needed each week
  • Direct Deposits – process new direct deposits for pre-note, make any changes as needed to accounts already on direct deposit and maintain documentation
  • Process direct deposit information for pay-card holders
  • Process weekly garnishments and maintain documentation
  • Verify accuracy of Corporate Staff timecards and enter into spreadsheet
  • Complete employee requests for copies of W-2s
  • Process and update changes toW-4 and Employee Change Form upon request
  • Send weekly payroll reports to Regional Managers (examples include - Unsigned Timecards, Missing Timecards)
  • Maintain Timecards Inbox – print timecards, confirm receipt, enter in system
  • Contact employees regarding uncashed checks and reissue as necessary
  • Track Payroll Office supplies (such as check stock and envelopes)
  • Keep up to date with Payroll Laws such as (compliance, wage increases, etc.)
  • Assist temporary staff with employee portal questions and password changes

 

Additional Functions:
  • Help with onboarding all internal new hires including setting up software access, email profile, and desks
  • Help with IT/Admin issues around the office prior to calling IT consultant for assistance
  • Help with ordering corporate cell phones, iPads and troubleshooting
  • Act as the ‘catch all’ to emails sent to old email accounts and distribute to the appropriate staff members
  • Create corporate documents to make payroll & company policies more efficient
  • New Hire Reporting – report new hires to EDD on a bi-weekly basis

 

Qualifications:
  • Payroll experience a plus
  • 4 year college degree preferred
  • Basic knowledge of IT and technologically savvy
  • Enthusiasm and customer service skills
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Avionte experience a plus

 

Compensation: $18/hr
