Fund Accounting Manager

Pay:

  • Starting $140,000/yr

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize accounting experience with private equity real estate funds or hedge funds.
  • Prepare and reconcile fund shadow books with the Administrator
  • Process trade files, review daily cash and position reconciliations, and assist in resolving trade breaks
  • Perform monthly portfolio valuations and prepare the net asset value package with supporting documentation
  • Calculate management fees, process 3rd party invoices, and prepare monthly performance estimates for investors
  • Review monthly investor allocation schedules and Administrator's schedules
  • Provide fund tax estimates, review K-1 schedules, and assist with tax planning
  • Participate in annual audits and financial statement preparation
  • Improve processes, controls, and information for due diligence requests, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
  • Manage vendors, including IT Support, and supervise staff work
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of business and accounting principles, including consolidation reporting/elimination entries and fund accounting
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financials, fund, and property accounting and audits
  • Maintain general ledger for various funds and investment entities
  • Conduct financial planning through modeling, analysis, and support for key initiatives
  • Monitor financial performance, investigate budget variances, and respond to financial-related queries
  • Partner with internal departments for accurate communications, presentations, and executive management data
  • Execute special projects, coordinate property sale entries, prorations, and prepare gain or loss on sale entries
  • Assist with special projects related to monthly close reporting process, budgets, internal audit, external audit, investor, and lender requirements

Requirements:

  • CPA Bachelor’s Decree required in Accounting
  • 3+ years’ work in public accounting
  • 5+ years’ work experience in commercial accounting or Private Equity
  • Experience with Yardi software a huge plus
  • Proficient in MS suite
  • Proficient Excel skills (models, templates, building macros/pivot tables). Ability to learn employer specific web base software/programs
