Field Technician - Residential Maintenance

The Field Technician will be the primary service provider for our client’s single-family properties on an as-needed basis. This role will assist and report to the Field Technician Supervisor and will deal with tenant maintenance requests and will walk and perform home inspections as well as other internal inspections. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential maintenance and an HVAC and EPA certification. If this sounds like you, apply for immediate consideration!

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responds to residents courteously and takes responsibility for resolving residents’ concerns
  • Conducts all business in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge of all pertinent laws and EPA/OSHA regulations.
  • Completes service requests in a professional and timely manner
  • Proactively monitors the condition of assigned properties and takes immediate steps to correct any unsafe condition
  • Diagnose and performs maintenance or repair as directed.
  • Responsible for move-in/move-out walk through inspections as well as Pre-Renewal inspections.
  • Changing light bulbs
  • Painting
  • Light carpentry
  • Window covering installation
  • Plumbing and electrical work
  • Servicing air conditioners
  • Take marketing photos and or videos as needed.

 

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Sit, stand and twist stand for several hours at a time
  • Climb up and down staircases (interior & exterior) several times each day
  • Climb ladders
  • Stooping
  • Kneel/Crawl
  • Reach above and below shoulders
  • Push, pull, lift, and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Repetitive hand use
  • Both indoor and outdoor work in all types of weather conditions

Desired Skills And Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 5+ year experience in residential property maintenance (apartment or single family).
  • HVAC and EPA certification preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, along with a customer service oriented attitude.
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekend hours and be available for on call status; some overtime may be required.
  • Plumbing, drywall, electrical, swimming pool, appliance and general maintenance experience required.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License, valid insurance, maintenance tools and reliable. transportation; travel 100% of the time between homes within assigned local regions.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
  • Experience with and ability to use a computer, keyboard, telephone, smart phone, fax, scanner and copier
  • Ability to understand what it takes to get a residential property in rent ready condition.
