The Director of Investments will assist with the acquisition of new-build product and contribute to the company’s overall growth. The Director of Investments must be Real Estate Licensed and have relevant experience and an enthusiastic and dedicated work ethic.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist with the acquisition of new-build product through all aspects, including market research, underwriting, due diligence, and negotiations
  • Develop relationships with homebuilders, developers, brokers and other industry professionals in the regions where the Company is looking for external growth
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations to executive leadership
  • Create and prepare valuation and cash flow models to determine the viability of potential investments and develop recommendations and reports based upon findings
  • Prepare and negotiate letters of intent, purchase and sale contracts and other related legal documents.
  • Review and understand all offering materials related to potential acquisitions and be able to provide insightful analysis
  • Oversee interdepartmental coordination to ensure that product design satisfies requirements regarding location, construction, architectural design, property characteristics, lot fit, leasing, and marketing
  • Prepare weekly reporting on updated opportunities and status to senior leadership
  • Ability to manage a team
  • Effectively manage prospecting in multiple Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA's)
  • Contribute to Regional Investment Committee meetings for MSA's covered
  • Assist with providing support to SVP of Investments to meet company's annual Capital Allocation Plan
  • Perform other duties as assigned by SVP of Investments


Education, Experience, & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate or a related field
  • 5+ years of new homes sales experience, forward planning, or homebuilding process required years minimum experience in community entitlement and land development or homebuilding process,
  • years minimum experience in community entitlement and land development or homebuilding process, ears minimum experience in community entitlement and land development or homebuilding process,4+ years of experience in residential acquisitions or institutional real estate; Single family preferred
  • 4+ years of experience in extensive, detailed data analysis and reporting
  • Valid Real Estate License required
  • Comprehension of federal fair housing laws and any applicable local housing provisions
  • Ability to create and design general marketing pieces for in-house production
  • General understanding of advertising design and ability to coordinate with advertising firms in the creation of advertisements and collateral
  • Proficiency utilizing Outlook, Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and basic OS tools
  • Excellent communication skills, organization skills, interpersonal skills and analytical skills.
  • Must be adaptable, innovative and a team player.
  • Ability to facilitate presentations or speak in public to large groups of people
  • Current driver's license and automobile insurance
  • Travel will be required
