The Commercial Property Accountant assists the accounting team with maintaining accounting records and issuing financial statements for the company’s commercial portfolio. Job Duties:
  • Full-cycle accounting for commercial property portfolio
  • Review general ledgers and prepare monthly financial statements
  • Analyze income and expenses
  • Assist team with month-end close process, tenant receipt posting, weekly check runs, year-end close process, annual property budgets, and documenting policies and procedures
  • Prepare monthly mortgage payment entries and reconcile lender statements & bank accounts
  • Read, abstract, set up, and maintain leases in Yardi
  • Assist Property Manager with the CAM reconciliation process
  • Assist with accounts receivable and invoices
  • Regularly review job costs and close jobs when they are complete
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly balance sheet account schedules
  • Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies and procedures
  • Provide backup support for the team as needed
  • Additional duties and ad hoc analyses as assigned
Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 3+ years of Commercial Property Accounting experience or related field required
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Intermediate level of experience in Excel
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong analytical strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Results-oriented and success motivated
  • Strong multitasking skills, organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to quickly learn new software/technology, concepts, and processes & procedures
  • Ability to identify and solve problems with limited information
  • Yardi experience preferred but not required
