Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

The CFO will be primarily responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. Responsibilities
  • Perform risk management by analyzing the organization’s liabilities and investments
  • Ensure cash flow is appropriate for the organization’s operations
  • Prepare reliable current and forecasting reports
  • Ensure compliance with the law and company’s policies
  • Manage team including financial controllers and financial analysts
  • Act as Chief Financial Officer and strategic business partner to senior executive leadership team and drive the company’s financial planning
  • Assess and evaluate financial performance of organization with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets, forecasts and investment strategies
  • Identify, acquire, and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information
  • Communicate, engage, and interact with Board of Directors, CEO, COO and Executive Leadership Team
  • Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with the company’s plan for growth and expansion
  • Recruit, interview and hire finance, accounting and payroll staff as required
  • Participate in pivotal decisions as they relate to strategic initiatives and operational models
  • Implement policies, procedures and processes as deemed appropriate by senior leadership team

 

Accounting & Administrative Duties:
  • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, compliance, and financial procedures
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for federal funders, foundations, investors, and company’s board of directors
  • Oversee the preparation and communication of weekly, monthly, and annual financial statements
  • Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns
  • Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and overhead cost allocation
  • Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits
  • Coordinate and strategize methods used to attain team goals with Chief Accounting Officer and Regional Controllers

 

Requirements:
  • BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MS/MBA is a plus
  • Experience as a CFO, finance officer, or relevant role
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
  • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
  • Proficient in MS Office and financial management software (e.g. SAP)
  • Outstanding knowledge and understanding of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance and SEC reporting.
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
  • CPA is a strong advantage
