Assistant Property Manager (Accounting Experienced)

The Assistant Property Manager will be responsible for assisting the Property Manager in the overall operation of the property, accounts payable/receivable, and day-to-day implementation of policies, procedures and programs. They will help maintain an acceptable occupancy level and develop a supportive environment for all residents. Responsibilities
  • Interviews and screens prospective residents for occupancy.
  • Prepares, processes and signs leases and rules.
  • Assists with inspections and monitoring work orders.
  • Responsible for recurring billings, manual billings and maintain tenant data
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports
  • Ensuring compliance with local, state and federal reporting requirements
  • Interacts with and oversees vendors
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with onsite support staffs.
  • Writes warning letters and prepares legal notices to residents.
  • Submits required reports and maintains records
  • Performs related work and other duties required.

 

Qualifications
  • 1-3 years’ experience in the property management industry or related experience
  • High school diploma or GED required. BA degree desirable. Accounting degree a plus.
  • Strong Accounting skills/background preferred
  • Ability to read, write and communicate fluently in English
  • Excellent problem solving, listening, and deductive reasoning skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must have valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation, and be able to travel for training purposes
  • Knowledgeable regarding company policies, federal, state, and local laws, and other rules that pertain to tenants
  • Yardi or other Property Management software experience a plus
