Position Purpose

The role of Architectural Designer is to provide architectural design and project documentation support with significant latitude for creative input. Project types include single family, multi-family, light commercial, land planning, and landscape architecture.


General Job Responsibilities:
  • Researches, plans, designs, and administers residential and light commercial building projects
  • Applies architectural knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials
  • Identifies potential problems or code issues in the designs and proposes solutions
  • Participates in periodic on-site observations of construction to monitor compliance with plans
  • Creates 3-D models for marketing presentation materials
  • Works closely with the President to realize the creative vison of the company
  • Provides guidance to other staff through motivation, instruction and increased knowledge

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Certification or Degree in Architecture from accredited college
  • 2-4 years of experience in the field of architecture
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems and multi-task
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Photoshop, Auto CAD and Sketchup software programs
  • Knowledge of basic structural design principles/proficiency in architectural software programs
  • May be required to perform occasional light physical labor
