JWS Alumni: Kimberley Membiela’s Real Estate Career Success Story

From new home sales to property management and residential maintenance, these individuals have put in the work to launch their dream career! This JWS Alumni article series will tell the unique stories of some of these successful individuals.

 

Kimberley Membiela couldn’t be a more fitting alumna to be the first to be featured, as she was one of the first professionals hired by JoAnne Williams when JWilliams Staffing was breaking ground in California. She was, and still is, an incredible success. Here’s her story:

Kimberley started with JWilliams in 2004 as a New Home Sales Assistant. She had her sights set on becoming a community sales manager, and was thrilled to be in the sales office helping customers choose their dream home. Through her daily experiences, and learning from Founder and CEO, JoAnne Williams, Kimberley gained valuable insight on the new home sales process, background and stages in homebuilding, and the importance of putting the client first. Where others saw dollar signs, she saw families, couples, and real people looking for a place to call home. Kimberley put her time, effort, and heart into her new role from the moment she was brought on to the JWS team.

Shortly after starting to work temporary assignments, Empire Homes identified Kimberley’s initiative and hired her as a full-time Associate Sales Agent from JWilliams Staffing. Kimberley quickly flew through the ranks from there – six months after she was hired, she was promoted to her dream role: Community Sales Manager.

Kimberley loves helping people from all walks of life and looks at them as her family. “The first-time homebuyers are like your children, you protect and look after them. You guide them through the process so they can be secure in their decision. Buying your first home is a scary commitment, so being there for those buyers makes their experience a memorable one.” Kimberly shared, “Helping a 55+ homebuyer is like helping your parents or grandparents with their final home purchase. It is very rewarding and emotional. Knowing that you are helping these buyers select where they want to spend their golden years is very heartfelt,” she continued, “Learning from them and listening to their life stories are priceless moments.” You can imagine how much of a personal touch Kimberly applies to each customer experience by the way she talks about the buying process. Treating clients as family is what she loves most about her career, and it sets her apart as an incredible salesperson. Beyond work, Kimberley dedicates this same level of care to her own family. She loves spending time with and taking care of her mother as well as creating memories with her grandchildren.

Kimberley’s drive has also led to tremendous recognition in the New Home Sales Industry. Having earned over 17 awards for Sales Person of the Quarter and six awards for 1st Runner Up of the Quarter from the Greater Sales and Marketing Council, she has made great strides in the Southern California New Home Sales Industry and set herself apart. Kimberley was also a finalist for the Laurel Award three years in a row and won the Laurel Award for Sales Person of the Year in 2009. And if you thought that was it, she was also a MAME Awards three time finalist for Sales Person of the Year throughout the entire Southern California region and won in 2010! Following her many successes, Kimberley most recently won Sales Person and Community of the Year from William Lyon Homes two years in a row in 2017 and 2018. 

One of Kimberley’s favorite memories was when she received her MAME award in 2010. She said, “JoAnne was at the event and I was able to show my appreciation for her giving me my first opportunity in New Home Sales. She believes in the people she hires and I will always be grateful for her belief in me.”

If there was one thing Kimberley would say to those starting out in the industry it is that, “This is an absolutely wonderful career. Make sure you have the passion and the drive. Enjoy every minute of it. Keep learning and never let the flame or desire go out,” she said, “It is very emotionally, spiritually, and financially rewarding. I would not be in any other business and I owe it all to JoAnne Williams. Thank you JoAnne and team.”
